Hello? Is anybody still there?...
I've been gone for quite awhile. Well, truthfully, I've not been totally gone - I've just been surfing other webpages that are much better at doing what I was hoping to achieve with MY blog. As the teens would say, I'm not hatin' on them, but it has caused me to think twice about duplicating my efforts. With that, I am saying "Thank you and Good night" to all of you who kept up with me until now. I will not delete this blog as I may revive it later, but until then, there will be no more posts. God speed everyone. Happy New Year!!

$7.99 for Entertainment Coupon Book

This is definitely the time to purchase one of these if you've been wanting one. Most of the coupons don't expire until November. And there are even some that are good until the end of the year! Also, when you purchase and register your book, you can download coupons for countless other places not even mentioned in the book. Click here for more details.

Although I bought one last year, I probably will not this year. Last year, there were Kroger coupons included which I could use at my local Publix grocery store. We also ate out alot last year (Folks is one of our favorite restaurants). And we went to the movies on occasion. This year, none of those things apply since we are getting in financial shape after attending Financial Peace University. Check it out!

35% Off of TurboTax from Bank Of America

In case you still haven't filed your 2008 taxes, here's an even better discount than the one I previously mentioned! It's 35% off of TurboTax!

I did end up using TurboTax to file our taxes this year and received 35% from T. Rowe Price who is ia also providing a 35% discount. I found TurboTax to be user friendly and pleasant to use (and accurate too!). I was a die-hard TaxCut user and would still use them again. However, I could not pass up this discount!

Either way, I would highly recommend that everyone do their own taxes if you can. Who knows your financial situation better than YOU?? Trust me, you will take much better care of yourself than a tax preparation consultant who asks that same questions as the D-I-Y-software and charges several hundred dollars!!

Quicken Online - FREE Personal Finance Software

Speaking of finances... Do you currently track your spending using personal finance software? If not, now is a great time to start - especially if you usually itemize deductions on your taxes. I've recently discovered Quicken Online which is a personal finance software that can connect to your bank, download your transactions, and categorize them so you can track your expenses! And best of all - IT'S FREE!!!

Several years ago, I used Microsoft Money to stay organized. I stopped using the software when my husband and I got married and switched banks. MS Money did not support automatic downloading of transactions from our new bank, so it became more and more inconvenient to keep up. (Who wants to MANUALLY input transactions in this day and age?!?!)

To their credit, I must concede that I have not checked lately to see if an updated version of the software now works with my bank. However, I DO know that MS Money is NOT free, and Quicken IS, so I gladly made the switch!!

When tax time comes, I mainly need a total for our daycare expenses and charitable contributions and the FREE online version works just fine for that!

It also helps us stay on budget and work toward our goal to become debt free!

25% Off Turbo Tax

UGHHH!! It's TAX TIME again!!

Despite my "ughhh", I'm still going to get our taxes done ASAP as usual. Thanks to Jenny at Southern Savers, I'd like to share a 25% discount for the Turbo Tax online program. It is sponsored by Fidelity Bank although you do NOT have to be a customer to receive the discount. Check it out here.
